Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving over 70,000 customers, has announced that Symington’s, a leading food manufacturer responsible for brands including Aunt Bessie’s, Campbell’s, Crosse & Blackwell and Ainsley Harriott, has invested in Infor SCM Warehouse Management (WM) to achieve significant year on year cost savings. The solution will help to accommodate additional volumes generated by rapid business growth, support new product development and boost customer service.
• Infor SCM WM replaces a number of disparate systems which inhibited stock visibility across Symington’s operations.
• The solution is expected to deliver year on year savings, through increased warehouse efficiency; reduced transport costs; annual stock take improvements; lower inventory and a smaller IT footprint.
• Cost savings generated will be reinvested into new product development helping Symington’s to achieve faster time to market for its new products.
• The ability to create advanced shipping notes and facilitate electronic communication with customers will improve processes and boost service levels for the food manufacturer.
• Infor was selected from a shortlist of three, based on the warehouse management solution’s ease of use, superior shelf life management functionality and reporting capabilities.
• In addition, Symington’s required a provider which would evolve to support its ambitious growth plans, and Infor demonstrated the flexibility and scale to support this goal.
• The solution will be implemented across Symington’s’ four sites, and will support around 2000 product lines. The first site is expected to go live in July 2011.
