By introducing a new gutsy range of soups and pasta sauces, GLORIOUS!® is taking the light meal trend to the next level. The soups include international flavours such as Sunny Thai Chicken, Goan Spiced Tomato & Lentil and Tuscan Chicken & Orzo, while the pasta sauces welcome flavours like Big Easy Creamy Chilli Sauce and New York Alfredo sauce.

A market survey conducted by Kantar Worldpanel about the national meal occasion in the UK commissioned by GLORIOUS!® revealed that the number of people eating soup as a meal has grown by nearly 5 percent since 2006, with fresh soup sales growing 16 percent in the last three years.

The survey showed that, during an average two weeks, 44 percent of British people consume soup and would choose to eat it at least once every 5 days. The survey, conducted amongst 11,000 participants, also revealed that although sandwiches currently lead the way in simple meals consumption, consumers are still looking for healthy and more flavoursome pre-prepared alternatives, demonstrated by 65 percent of the soups being consumed at lunchtime.

With summery bold flavours such as Fragrant Thai Carrot & Lemongrass or Goan Spiced Tomato & Lentil, the new range contains less than 160 calories and less than 3 percent fat per serving.
