Gray & Adams - servicing the service industry
Innovation and service are key words among the Gray & Adams team, and once again the company has come up with an innovative new design to help a customer overcome distribution problems.
 Domino's Pizza distributes chilled fresh ingredients to its massive network of franchise outlets from depots based in Milton Keynes, Penrith and Naas in the Republic of Ireland. Their large fleet consists of 29 DAF 23tonne rigid vehicles, three DAF artic and trailer units and three Mercedes Sprinter vans. All the rigid body and trailer vehicles are Gray and Adams built. Their latest delivery of three trailers and four rigid bodies are additional vehicles to the fleet to help the company accommodate the opening of a number of new stores around the country.
The company had identified a potential distribution issue of chilled air not circulating underneath their goods well enough during transit, and so approached Gray & Adams with this query.
"The sales team readily came up with a solution in the form of T-Plate flooring to allow the air to circulate underneath the product," said Troy Faulkner, Commissary Operations Manager for Domino's. "In addition to this we looked at loading restraints in the ceiling and again they came back with a bespoke design to enable this as well."
"Gray & Adams seem to have the right approach to their customer's needs and really do give you what you ask for," he added. "They maintain such a good relationship with customers that I feel they are part of our team rather than just a supplier."
