Oakland International, the Redditch-based contract packing, storage and logistics specialist, has seen employee numbers increase by a staggering 25 over the last few months, with key management appointments keeping the company momentum 'on the move.'
Joining the Oakland team, as Chilled Warehouse Managers, are Fred Robinson, with over 37 years in Storage and Logistics Management, and Andy Peplow, skilled in logistics and with 20 years of production management experience gained at Rover.
Handling over 3,500 chilled pallets per week, Fred and Andy's pivotal roles will be to manage an ever-increasing workforce whilst providing knowledgeable and flexible chilled warehouse traffic management control. Said Managing Director Dean Attwell: "Partnering Fred and Andy brings to OaklandÕs rapidly expanding family firm Fred's extensive stock management and logistical movement know-how, together with AndyÕs big scale and large company experience."

The new position of Transport Controller is taken up by John Williams, with more than 30 years' transport industry experience. John takes on the responsibility of coordinating over 100 vehicles per day and a key directive of the exploration of synergies with other transport partners to reduce miles per tonne and maximise vehicle utilisation, building upon successful consolidation schemes already in place.
Dean said: "I have personally known John for over 25 years, and his wealth of knowledge and expertise will bring a host of benefits and savings to Oakland's operation."
