Hybrid Cooling for water conservation & low energy consumption

Jaeggi/Guentner will exhibit the benefits of the hybrid dry cooler together with the latest development of the HybriMatic control system on stand J124 at RAC07. Hybrid dry coolers are used for industrial refrigeration applications, including process and industrial cooling, air conditioning and building climate control. Variants are also available for condensing refrigerants (i.e. Ammonia.) Compared to conventional evaporative cooling systems (cooling towers) up to 80% water savings and 35% energy savings are achievable. With increasing UK water and energy prices, the life-cycle cost savings are made even more attractive. Installed in shopping centres, supermarkets, airports, hotels, food and process plants, dairy and brewing industries, commercial buildings and offices, these products have been specified in all areas where water conservation and low energy consumption are key criteria. Hybrid cooling achieves lower condensing temperatures, which equates directly to lower energy costs. Highly efficient hybrid dry coolers are a proven solution to growing environmental and regulatory pressures to reduce water consumption and conserve energy. They are also ideally suited to locations where space is restricted and low noise is required. Hybrid dry coolers are often installed where dry coolers or "adiabatic" spray type coolers cannot achieve the desired lower cooling temperatures specified for improved chiller efficiency (or become too large for the project footprint.) The principle of hybrid dry cooling is well proven with around 1,000 installations in Europe since 1991. The HybriMatic®-control system ensures economical operation With the Hybrimatic® control system, fan speed and operation are automatically controlled according to the required cooling capacity. Depending on application and cooling load, the inverter driven fan motors, wetting pumps, basin heaters and motorised valves are controlled in accordance with the desired cooling performance. The highly intelligent control system optimises the switch from dry to hybrid mode. Importantly, fan speed is always controlled so that an aerosol free hybrid operation is ensured and this guarantees no water droplet emissions from the hybrid cooler.
