Movie partnership fuels snack range success
Red Mill Snack Foods is continuing its unique association with the popular Transformers movie and toy franchise.
The snack manufacturer is running a second on pack promotion across its Transform-A-Snack range to celebrate the release of the live action blockbuster on DVD on 3 December.
Entrants can text to try and win a 32 inch plasma TV and DVD home cinema system. Additional prizes include portable DVD players, copies of the Transformers DVD and mobile phone wallpapers and games. The competition closes on 31 March 2008.
Sarah Nunn, Red Mill's Marketing and Sales Controller, said: "We are proud of our partnership with Transformers, which has really helped us strengthen the Transform-A-Snack brand.
"Uptake from our first joint promotion in July exceeded all expectations and helped contribute to a massive 70 per cent increase in snack sales."
Bags of Transform-A-Snack contain a mixture of corn snack shapes, which can be added together to be transformed into a moon buggy, making them especially popular with children.
All snacks are baked rather than fried and suitable for vegetarians. There are five flavours available in 30g bags retailing at 20p - Beef, Cheese and Onion, Pickled Onion, Saucy BBQ and Spicy.
Red Mill also offers a Spicy multipack with six 20g bags and a recommended retail price of 99p.
Transformers is directed by Michael Bay and executive produced by Stephen Spielberg. The film has grossed nearly $700m at the worldwide box office since its release this summer.
