Giant Blu-tack spider descends upon London Zoo!
Pictured at London Zoo is 'BLU-TACK Blu-ey' (leg span a massive FOUR feet, weight over 200kg), an extremely large and scary version of the common house spider Ð dwarfing 'Maggie', the zoo's giant Mexican Red-Kneed bird-eating spider (leg span, a massive six inches).
The two arachnids came face to face (Maggie has eight eyes!) with each other at the unveiling of a month-long exhibition of Blu-Tack's giant model, on display at B. U.G. S! at ZSL London Zoo to celebrate the launch of the BLU-TACK website's online sculpture gallery Ð and a great Spider-Man modelling competition to mark the release of the new Spider-Man 3ª DVD.
BLU-TACK research shows that, as well as many amateur and professional adult sculptors, thousands of artistic youngsters enjoy creating models out of BLU-TACK - Blu-ey the giant BLU-TACK spider is the work of professional artist Liz Thompson from Wimbledon. To encourage that creativity, BLU-TACK'S special promotional pack features an exciting competition inviting fans of all ages to make a Spider-man 3ª related model out of the versatile re-usable adhesive and visitors to the new BLU-TACK website (www.blu-tack.co.uk) will also be able to offer pictures of their own BLU-TACK models for the site's 'virtual' gallery.
