New research from XLS-Medical Carb Blocker found that dieters name carbohydrate rich-food such as cakes and biscuits as the number one reason (21%) for putting on weight and said that bread is the one carbohydrate they struggle to live without (47%). Increasing awareness of the role of excess carbohydrate consumption among consumers mean that nearly 1 in 5 (19%) are trying to cut carbohydrates from their diet completely when they want to lose weight.
