dsc00698Joloda International Ltd of Liverpool, England has been successful in winning another order for aluminium slatted moving floor vehicles installed into 12mtr aluminium trailer bodies.

The order for four units has been placed by the Scottish based haulier McPhersons Transport of Aberlour, for the Chivas Regal contract, producers of the Chivas, Ballantines and J&B range of Whiskies. This brings the total number of vehicles in operation to 26 units.

The system is designed to automatically load and unload 96 barrels of whisky at 9mtrs/min., weighing approximately 23 tons, in one shot at the drain and fill site in Dumbarton. The plant output equates to a maximum of 1,900 casks per day with an average of 1,500 per day. The moving floor then unloads and loads by fork truck at the remote bond storage sites by indexing double stacked pallets forwards and backwards with a 10 second time delay controlled by infrared beams and photo electric cells. Due to the hazardous nature of the product the motors and electronics are fully flameproofed.

Additionally, the moving floors are fitted with the Joloda Skate and Track systems for emergency off loading in case of power failure. This consists of track which runs flush with the moving floor in which runs a set of Joloda skates. When elevated the load becomes live and then can be easily removed.

Joloda International established in 1969 is the market leader in the design and manufacture of dock to trailer conveyor systems to the fast moving consumer goods and drinks distribution industry.
