UPM Conveyors, who have been manufacturing in the UK for 36 years and claim to be the market leader for product handling, have experienced a 25% increase in sales during 2011 resulting in an expansion of their production area by 10,000 sq feet due to the success of their all plastic belt conveyor produced from high molecular weight polyethelene (HMWP), which gained them the Queens Award for Innovation.
2012 looks set to exceed those sales with projects from major multi national companies being promised for Worldwide applications based on UPM accepting total responsibility for turn key projects operating to the agreed specification and to the customer’s satisfaction, which is a result of a Performance Guarantee allowing peace of mind, with reliability and trouble free operation being the corner stone of their success.
All aspects of manufacture are carried out in-house including fabrication; programming and control build, allowing complete control of quality / inspections and maintaining delivery promises.
UPM also offer all stainless steel construction belt conveyors incorporating their unique quick release belt tension for ease of access to allow full pressure wash clean down to be carried out in situ, and typical of this is the complete turn key project which involved the handling of meat and poultry from Goods In through to band saws (including inspection and sieving); dicers; flakers; mincers, undersize screening to an Octofrost Freezer Tunnel and finally a Multihead Weigher / Bagger and packing / despatch with an output of 3 tonnes an house on a 24hours a day 7 day a week operation.
