Honeywell Remote MasterMind 4.0™ allows management of Android™ platform-based smart phones and in-counter scanners, along with barcode scanners and mobile computers.

ReM_LOGO_trademarkHoneywell (NYSE: HON) has announced a significant upgrade to the automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) industry’s first integrated mobile and scanning device management solution. Remote MasterMind (ReM) 4.0 device management software enhances management of consumer mobile devices, a key benefit for workplaces with bring-your-own-device (BYOD) programs, including the Samsung Galaxy Series smart phones and other devices running on the Android™ platform. ReM 4.0 software also broadens support for all Honeywell-branded rugged mobile devices including the forthcoming Dolphin™ 70e Black mobile computer and scanners, as well as the Honeywell Stratos™ Bioptic Scanner and its affiliated barcode scanners. The upgraded version also expands the user’s ability to access actionable data, such as metrics around device usage and error conditions, from Honeywell bar code scanners.

The updated ReM 4.0 software tool saves time and money for enterprises by providing a single person or group of administrators one dashboard to manage hierarchies of devices across the enterprise, track device locations and routes traveled and make quick decisions regarding user-reported issues – from anywhere in the world. Administrators can push software updates, access device metrics and statistics to quickly diagnose reported issues, identify operation errors from within the device pools, aggregate operation data and improve IT support to devices.

DPD, a leading international provider of parcel and express services for more than 2.5 million parcels a day, is leveraging the remote device management software, which allows its depot managers and administrators push software updates and verify the computers are working properly from a single dashboard.

“Honeywell Remote MasterMind provides a decisive advantage of transparency in the management of equipment and helps us even at the highest utilization / peak times to remain efficient,” said Peter Störring, director of operations of DPD GeoPost (Deutschland).

“The range of devices used by a typical enterprise is expanding to maximize each worker’s productivity, so it’s a priority for Honeywell to keep improving our industry-best remote device management software.  Remote MasterMind 4.0 is a powerful, yet easy-to-use solution to help companies protect their hardware investment, no matter what devices their employees are using,” said Peter Fehl, vice president of marketing, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility.

To accommodate the growing demand for enterprise BYOD programs, Remote MasterMind 4.0 management software strengthens password protection to prevent intruders from gaining server access, and offers the ability for IT managers to remotely wipe a device that is lost or stolen.  Availability of Remote MasterMind 4.0 management

software begins this month. For more information on Remote MasterMind 4.0, please visit http://www.honeywellaidc.com.
