Thornton & Ross launches new addition to the Care Virasoothe range

Care, makers of over 90 tried and trusted family medicines, has launched a new spray version of its hugely popular ViraSoothe Chickenpox Relief Cooling Gel.

Chickenpox-reportThis latest variant is expected to be a big draw for consumers because it has all the benefits of the original breakthrough treatment with the additional advantages of being even quicker and easier to apply.

Priced at £8.49 for 60ml, the rapidly absorbed cooling spray gel offers wider coverage, less touch and even quicker application than the original Gel version, helping to minimise the distress of chickenpox.

Care ViraSoothe Gel and Spray Gel help break the itch, scratch, infection cycle by rapidly calming the persistent itch. Specially developed to relieve the symptoms of chickenpox, it utilises a unique osmotic action – drawing water from the dermis (lower level of the skin) into the epidermis (upper level of the skin) which creates a cooling effect as it evaporates. This not only relieves the irritation but protects the skin’s environment, allowing it to heal naturally which can help reduce long-term scarring.

Hayley Chambers, Brand Manager at Thornton & Ross comments: “We strive to develop ground-breaking, excellent quality products that meet the needs of families in the UK. With the latest launch of Care ViraSoothe Spray Gel we listened to families and pharmacists and produced a new variant of this extremely effective product, which is now even easier to use.”

As 90% of children in the UK will catch chickenpox*, most of them before the age of four, in-store pharmacies should stock the most innovative and effective products to deal with the symptoms of chickenpox. The launch of Care ViraSoothe Chickenpox Relief Cooling Spray Gel is being supported with online advertising, and PR.

virasoothe-cooling-spray-gelCare has commissioned a Chickenpox Report to provide best practice advice to help parents better manage the symptoms of chickenpox. It includes comments and advice from GP and BBC Health Correspondent Dr Sarah Jarvis, Pharmacist Sultan Dajani and Dermatologist, Dr Sarah Wakelin.
