RH Amar, the UK’s leading fine food importer and distributor, is marking 70 years of driving trends in the UK fine food sector, with the launch of a new guide for brand owners.
Aimed at helping premium brands to carve out a share of the UK’s £285bn food and drink sector*, RH Amar has distilled unique experience gathered across eight decades into a special four-page guide.
Entitled ‘Helping Brands Succeed’, the guide aims to show brand owners the size of the fine food prize in the UK, as well as offering hints and tips about how to break into the market.
It also reveals the sector’s current growth points, including in convenience retail where £1 in every £4 spent in food and drink retail is predicted to go through that channel by 2019**.
Special attention is also given to the UK’s foodservice sector, which is currently growing by +3% year-on-year*** as Britain’s appetite for eating out continues to go from strength to strength.
“As we celebrate our 70th anniversary and our foundation in 1945, we felt it was a perfect time to reflect on the size of the UK food and drink market and offer advice to brand owners looking to conquer this market,” explains RH Amar MD Rob Amar, the grandson of company founder Raoul Amar.
“We believe this is a great time for brand owners from all over the world to take a look at the UK and make the most of the opportunity it represents.
“As a company, we operate across more than 10 categories within retail and foodservice and we pride ourselves on working with some of the world’s most famous brands, including Del Monte canned fruit, Kikkoman soy sauce, and Starbucks coffee.
“We are always on the lookout to help brands establish a new opportunity in the UK, and we have a strong record in sustaining long-term relationships with brands.
“We would urge any brands looking to find out more about launching in the UK to read our guide.”
