bags-groupPanda Licorice’s Comfits are getting a retro revamp. Alongside the creation of three new flavours, the range is being rebranded to Torpedos – a nostalgic name, which better serves retailer and consumer demand for retro confectionery. Torpedos will retain their yellow, white and green colour but each colour represents a new flavour – lemon, peppermint and aniseed. As with all Panda Licorice products, the Torpedos contain no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives. They are also suitable for vegetarian, vegan and kosher diets. Lisa Gawthorne, Panda International Marketing Manager, said: “Sales of Comfits are up *114.3% year-on-year and with the new classic name, Torpedos, we want to capture the imaginations of ‘small’ and ‘big’ children alike.”

The 100g Torpedo bag has an RRP of £1.26 and comes packed in a shelf ready outer case ready for retailers to merchandise straight on to the shelf.

Torpedos mixed bag will be launched across stores in May coinciding with the second annual Love Licorice Day, being held on Monday 10 May. Love Licorice Day has been created by Panda Licorice to encourage the UK to try licorice again and this re-ignition of consumer interest should drive footfall to retailers.

Lisa continues: “Licorice is a lot like Marmite, you either love it or hate it. Most people have tried licorice as a child and those who love it are fans for life, whereas those who loathed have avoided it since, but they may actually find that their tastes have matured with age.”

Licorice is an ideal healthy alternative snack to chocolate or other sweets. It also has many health benefits and has been used for medicinal purposes since 2000 BC. Its a great stress buster, digestion aid and, as a fat free treat, is a well-kept celebrity diet secret. Its celebrity fans include Anne Hathaway, Brad Pitt and experimental TV chef Heston Blumenthal.

This Love Licorice Day, Panda Licorice is helping women achieve even greater wellbeing in their lives with its new blog www.10minutetips.co.uk where an expert panel will share their tips on beauty, style, hair and make up, nutrition, fitness, relationships and life coaching.

The blog will be a resource for women to dip into and improve their health, wellbeing and confidence, with bite-sized tips that can be achieved in around 10 minutes. The site also gives women a platform to share their own relevant thoughts and experiences.

With over ten tasty products in the Panda range you really are spoilt for choice but one thing you can definitely settle on is the totally addictive taste of Panda Licorice.
