Reigning Olympic 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce took time out of her busy schedule to visit the headquarters of Grace Foods UK, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of Caribbean products and ethnic foods.

The Caribbean sprint sensation, who also holds the world 100m title and is the fourth fastest woman in history over that distance, enjoyed a tour of the company’s offices and warehouse in Welwyn Garden City, Herts.

During a two-hour visit, Shelly-Ann was given an insight into Grace Foods UK’s six subsidiary companies including Caribbean food and drink supplier Enco Products, Chadha Oriental and Funnybones Foodservice.

Shelley-Ann is no stranger to Grace Foods, as she has been a brand ambassador for Jamaica-based GraceKennedy, Grace Foods UK’s parent company, since December, 2008.

Grace Foods UK Managing Director Ryan Mack, who hosted the visit, said: “With less than 12 months to go to London 2012, we were delighted that Shelley-Ann found time to visit us.

“Like many of the Caribbean’s leading athletes, she has grown up with Grace-branded products and participated in Grace-sponsored athletics event. We’re proud to be feeding champions of such stature and enjoy watching them compete at the very highest level.”

Shelley-Ann’s build-up to London 2012 involved competing in the IAAF World Championships in Korea soon after her visit to Grace House.
