Oakland Distribution has announced the appointment of Ian Stratton as their new Wholesale Sales Manager to cover Scotland and the North of England territories.
Ian brings with him a wealth of experience gained from his time working in the FMCG sales arena. Joining the Oakland Distribution Sales team, the business now has for the first time a dedicated UK-wide geographical sales presence.
Oakland Distribution’s wholesale sales manager, Ian Stratton, stated: “Having worked within foodservice and distribution for many years, I have seen the demand for consolidation services grow.

Past winner of the Business Initiative of the Year award in The Grocer Gold Awards 2011, 2013 saw Oakland Distribution build on strong sales growth, with core scheme business showing a 91% increase in turnover compared to 2012. Principal contracts with key partners have been renewed, ensuring this growth trend can continue throughout 2014. Oakland Distribution’s tangible benefits derived from bespoke chilled and ambient consolidation schemes, fully supported by strong supplier and buyer disciplines, have proved time and time again to deliver exceptional growth in sales through enhanced availability, range, longer shelf-life, and reduced costs. Schemes operated include models which allow producers to maintain their commercial relationship with their wholesale or foodservice accounts whilst offering a single point of invoicing and supply chain risk management.
