100% natural ‘superfood’ date snack brand enters UK market
Innovative ‘super date’ snack brand, Nomads, has entered the UK market in a bid to modernise and excite the UK dates category and at the same time respond to increased demand by a fifth of UK snack buyers for healthier, eat-on-the go, gluten free snacks.
Nomads 100% natural dates are filled with ‘superfoods’ such as chia seeds, blueberries and acai berries, and are specifically designed for eating on-the-go, a UK first for dates.
The new super date snack brand is available in three varieties, all of which use the lesser known Saudi Arabian Sufri date, a slow-growing variety chosen for its distinctive texture and flavour of soft caramel. With three ‘super dates’ in each pack, the range includes: Chia Seed & Almond stuffed dates, Blueberry & Acai stuffed dates and Original Premium Pitted Dates.
Gervase Fay has been responsible for the development of Nomads in the UK. She says:
“The UK is overwhelmed by mass produced dates farmed from across the Arab world, as well as dates bars with nuts and added fruit. We felt the date was no longer being celebrated and we set about establishing its ‘King of Fruits’ status.
“By creating Nomads, we have brought the humble date bang up to date for today’s modern consumer, introducing a product that is distinctive and exciting for people who are increasingly looking for a healthier, more natural and gluten-free snack choice.”

All Nomads dates come from named farms in Saudi Arabia and are 100% natural, carefully picked straight from the branch by hand, as opposed to machine de-pitting which can make the date mushy – and the date remains intact through the whole handcrafting process.
As a result, each hand-crafted Sufri date is packed with minerals, amino acids, fibre, natural sugar and absolutely nothing else. What is more they are dairy and gluten-free and suitable for vegans.
All three Nomads varieties are available for an RRP of ?1.79 for a pack of three dates.
