nifty.jpgNiftynosh.com, Northern Ireland’s first fully automated online food ordering portal has selected the Star Micronics TSP600 thermal receipt printer from DED Limited for use in all restaurant and takeaway outlets. Nifty Nosh have implemented the low cost Star TSP600, with its high quality and fast print speed to enable order processing via a secure web application within their subscribed food-to-go establishments. Nifty Nosh provides a hassle-free way for customers to search by postcode and order food from restaurants and takeaways in their local areas by logging onto a single website which contains subscribed food to go outlets.

Niftynosh.com contains all the information you would expect – menus, opening times, special deals – all in an easy to use format. Customers can specify delivery or pick up times and the order is confirmed back to them by email or text message to a mobile phone. The order is then printed at the selected restaurant on the Star Micronics TSP600 ready to be actioned.

Barry Lynch, Operations Director at Nifty Nosh commented on the challenge: “We needed to be able to print a receipt from a web browser to a thermal printer via our bespoke Order Receipt Terminal. We found DED online and were confident they could meet our requirements. Star Micronics were chosen as the industry leading manufacturer of thermal receipt printers.”

The Star TSP600 was chosen by Nifty Nosh for its all round value for money, speed and reliability. A key factor in the decision was also the quick paper roll changing thanks to ‘drop in and print’ easy loading – essential in a busy restaurant or takeaway environment.
