caerphilly.jpgSouth Caernarfon Creameries, Wales’ leading farmer owned dairy co-operative is launching new products at this years Food & Drink Expo show being held at the NEC 6 – 9 April 2008. The new range of dairy offerings includes the most traditional of all Welsh Cheeses, Caerphilly, and also a new range of delicious desserts.South Caernarfon Creameries new real Welsh Caerphilly cheese is oozing with provenance; a traditional Welsh cheese, made in Wales using Welsh milk; something that some of the other major Caerphilly producers cannot claim. Their new white cheese has a delicate creamy texture and is branded as part of their Old Shire family brand either in 200g retail packs or larger 2.5kg deli blocks. Caerphilly was traditionally eaten by miners as a good source of protein and to replenish salt. Today it offers a great alternative to Feta in a Greek Salad.

Food & Drink Expo will also mark South Caernarfon’s new venture into chilled desserts. Two new cream based desserts will be launched; Chocolate Pot and Lemon Posset. The limited edition desserts are made using cream produced by cows that graze in the foothills of Snowdonia. For the Chocolate Pot, cream is gently cooked with sugar and oodles of finest quality, dark, Belgian chocolate to create a creamy textured pudding with an intense chocolatey flavour. Lemon Posset has a refreshing, tangy flavour thanks to the delicious mix of rich cream, sugar and sun-ripened Spanish lemon juice. The deliciously creamy, rich desserts are twin packed into 100g tubs and will make a convenient after-dinner treat.
