L’Oréal, a global leader in beauty trends, has designed new packaging for the Western European Elsève shampoo and conditioner range with custom bi-injected dispensing closures manufactured by GCS to cap the contemporary containers.
The new full-width high gloss, semi-transparent PP closures in two sizes elongate the tall flat oval shampoo packs which range from 200ml to 400ml in size, improving the size impression and on-shelf visibility; the signature darker-coloured flat-surfaced flip-top provides a large footprint for the headstand conditioner packs to differentiate the complementary products. Improvements to the butterfly hinge have resulted in dynamic opening of the flip-top for ease of use whilst the headstand pack for the more viscous conditioner ensures that the full contents can be accessed easily. Increased cavitations in the mould have maximised production efficiency at Zeller Plastik in France, which due to rapid development planning, was able to deliver closures in 26 colour combinations to L’Oréal for the tightly scheduled product roll-out.
L’ Oréal chose GCS for the development due to its expertise in the production of bi-injection closures and the company’s ability to industrialise projects efficiently on a global basis and to the high quality standards demanded in today’s image driven and highly competitive personal care market.
