Gordon’s delivered double digit growth in Great Britain as announced in Diageo’s full year results[i]

Gordon’s Premium Pink Distilled Gin sells 37% more volume per week in the off-trade than nearest competitor[ii]

Gordon’s, the UK’s biggest gin brand[iii], continues to lead the gin category, delivering strong double-digit growth in Great Britain as announced in Diageo’s recent full year results.

As the nation’s love of gin continues[iv], Gordon’s Premium Pink Distilled Gin (GPPDG) proves popular among consumers, contributing over 20% of the total value growth in the gin category in the past year, selling seven million litres[v] in the off-trade alone. This strong performance has seen GPPDG rise to become the off-trade’s second largest gin brand by volume – beaten only by Gordon’s London Dry, which maintains top position[vi].

GPPDG also boasts the highest rate of sale in flavoured gin to-date[vii], selling 37% more volume per week than its nearest competitor in the off-trade[viii]. Following this success, the brand has launched a 35cl bottle of its Premium Pink Distilled Gin. The new variant is available now across all off-trade channels.

Katie Thomas, Innovation Manager at Diageo GB, comments: “The popularity of flavoured gins shows no sign of slowing and, since its launch, Gordon’s Premium Pink Distilled Gin has played a leading role in this growth, adding £105m to the total gin category in the last year alone[ix].

“With the addition of a smaller size bottle catering for a wider range of occasions, we’re confident that our new 35cl bottle will enable retailers to tap into a broader number of opportunities and will encourage trial of flavoured gin thanks to its accessible price point.

“With over 200 new gins entering the market in the last two years alone and limited shelf space in store, retailers can be faced with hard decisions when it comes to what to stock. However, with the Gordon’s trademark accounting for 44% of gin sales in the off-trade[x], the numbers really do speak for themselves and we’d encourage all retailers to stock Gordon’s Premium Pink Distilled Gin and Gordon’s London Dry in 70cl and 35cl formats.”

Retailers should stock up now on the new Gordon’s Premium Pink Distilled Gin 35cl fractional to claim their share of the huge profit opportunity it presents.
