The health-conscious can now indulge in their desire for high quality confectionery – but without the sugar – following the launch of a range of bagged sweets by The Friendly Sweet Company.
Leading the market for traditional sweets without the ‘bad bits’, The Friendly Sweet Company worked with Bradford-based film specialists, National Flexible, to create the packaging for its range of sugar free, gluten free and trans-fat free confectionery.
The two companies worked together to develop a generic range of printed laminate films suitable for packing the sweets on automated VFFS machinery. Containing up to 60g of product, the film bags are low-cost, high quality, and high clarity with printing and origination costs kept to a minimum thanks to some clever repro work by National Flexible’s print team.
“Our ‘Zero-Zero-One’ approach is different in the packaging industry as it allows us to pipeline bulk quantities of base materials for printing, slitting and lamination,” said National Flexible’s Marketing Manager – Andy Smith. “This allows us to offer our customers greater flexibility in terms of cost, lead times and order quantities,” he continued.
