Flexible packaging specialist manufactures, prints and delivers special promotional packs in just four days.

BBC Magazines recently chose Mercury Packaging to supply specially designed bags for a world exclusive issue of Top Gear magazine. An on-shelf embargo meant the leading UK flexible packaging specialist manufactured, printed and delivered the eye-catching promotional packs within just four days of receiving the original design.

Top Gear’s February 2011 issue was the first reveal of two Italian supercars – the Pagani and a new Ferrari 4WD model. Produced from silver 65 micron cast polypropylene with a gold metallised effect, the header-style bags were superbly printed in eight colours. As well as the normal content listing, each of the 183,000 bags supplied by Mercury Packaging featured stunning images of the new cars and promoted FREE ‘Cool-Wall’ fridge magnets.

Koli Pickersgill, Group Production Manager at BBC Magazines, comments: “Mercury Packaging has been supplying us with magazine bags for many years and clearly understand our quality remits, so we knew that they would interpret and reproduce our design accurately, as well as achieve the tight turnaround required without compromise.”

Mercury Packaging has been supplying magazine bags to the publishing industry for many years including packs for promotional issues of retail magazines and protective packaging for subscription copies.
