Aunt Bessie’s has teamed up with contract packer, Mailway Packaging Solutions to develop a seamless way of wrapping and printing exclusive money off coupons that are being inserted in its leading Yorkshire Pudding range.
The Mailway solution made use of perforated bandoliers and a high-speed automated production line that enabled strings of sealed coupons to be separated, inserted and then sealed in a specialist flow wrap material.
David Barr, Operations Development Manager of Aunt Bessie’s said, “In the past, fears about manufacturing deadlines have led to some reluctance to include inserts of this nature, but the Mailway team was able to perfect a way of printing and wrapping the inserts at a high enough volume and on time.”
“By including the money off vouchers in our fastest selling Yorkshire Pudding packs we are now able to generate some excellent cross-selling opportunities for other products in our range such as stuffing balls and desserts.”
The technology is not limited to food packages and has great potential to work as an in-pack communications solution or for trialling and sampling across any range of branded packaged goods, including disposable nappies, personal care or cleaning products.
