Schoeller Allibert, a world leader in plastic reusable transit packaging (RTP), has further expanded its Magnum range of folding large containers (FLCs) with the introduction of Magnum Helium, a lightweight container to simplify handling operations and reduce fuel costs.

Designed specifically for handling light to medium weight loads, Schoeller Allibert has developed lighter sidewalls and pallet base which significantly reduce the overall weight of the Magnum Helium, making it easy and safe to handle as well as reducing fuel consumption while in transit. Inside, smooth surfaces provide both protection for delicate goods as well as a hygienic easy-clean finish, making Magnum Helium ideal for transporting food and fresh produce.

Simon Knights, Schoeller Allibert’s regional sales director for the UK and Ireland, explains: “Moderate loads pose a special challenge, as cardboard and traditional lightweight containers are not robust enough to protect contents while heavy-duty FLCs are perhaps not necessary. We have developed Magnum Helium with advanced injection moulding techniques to create a truly light FLC, keeping contents in excellent condition while being easy for both operatives and automated systems to handle.

“In addition, large folding sides allow the container to be folded flatter for the return trip, leading to more than a 60 per cent space saving in return logistics – which can lead to a reduction in vehicles on the road. Despite its light weight and folding capabilities, Magnum Helium can securely stack three high carrying unit loads of up to 300kg.

Magnum Helium is also ideal for manufacturing logistics, ideal for transporting automotive parts, tools, electronic components and subassemblies.
