A research project carried out at the recent Office Show by tesa UK has provided further evidence to support the company’s increasing use of colour in its stationery ranges.

Almost 100 visitors to the show took part in the poll, which questioned them about buying habits, sources of supply and the importance of colour in their product selection. More than two thirds (69%) of the sample said that colour was a major factor in their decision making, providing welcome news to manufacturers that have invested in diversifying from traditional corporate colours such as black, grey and silver, into a more stimulating and contemporary approach.

Kirsten Bergmann, Senior Product Manager in tesa’s Consumer and Craftsman division is on record about the importance of colour in the company’s product development plans, having carried out separate consumer research. “Our pink and cyan blue products emerged as the clear favourites with respondents indicating that they perceived these to be especially vibrant and modern.”

tesa product ranges such as its mini tape dispensers and mini correction dispensers now major on these colours and Phil Johnson, tesa’s Key Account Manager for the stationery business in the UK says that getting first hand reaction from so many customers was a worthwhile exercise.
