Kite Packaging has officially announced the acquisition of a two acre site on the South Marston Industrial Estate, Swindon. The new site is expected to be completely refurbished by February 2015, when the existing Swindon-based business which currently resides in The IO Centre, just off the A361, will move in.

WP_20141112_15_18_44_Pro-(3)Kite Packaging Ltd, the UK’s premier supplier of packaging, has 8 sites across the country – including its recent property investment in Maidstone to help provide improved services to the South East region. The new Swindon branch is the third property investment this year for the company, and has been purchased to keep up with the ongoing growth the team have experienced in the last few years. Since relocating from Didcot to Swindon in 2007, with a focus on servicing business customers in the Thames Valley, South West and South Wales region, the branch has grown to a £5.5m operation, doubling employee numbers and working with several major customers.

The new site is spread across two units and surrounding land in the South Marston Industrial Estate – just a short distance away from the existing branch – and includes a huge 18,000 sq. ft. of extra space to create a 36,000 sq. ft. facility. Building and refurbishment work has already begun, with plans for a big reveal in February 2015. The major investment, once completed, will include a fully racked warehouse with the capacity to accommodate 5,000 pallets of packaging, for the existing customer base and new customers. The new offices will also allow for further investment in company partners (Kite is an employee-owned business) to continue the expansion of the operation.

Neil Spears, Managing Partner at Kite Packaging Swindon said; “The new acquisition is a really exciting opportunity to expand our presence in the Thames Valley, South West and South Wales region. With larger warehousing facilities, and room to welcome new Kite partners to our branch we will be able to service more customers on a much larger scale.”
