Jakemans, the British traditional confectionery manufacturer, has experienced such impressive growth over the past year it has outperformed key competitors such as Tunes and Fisherman’s Friend, growing by 18.3%*.
Jakemans has been producing quality medicated confectionery since 1907 and was acquired by LanesHealth, Gloucester-based manufacturers of established family favourites such as Olbas and Kalms, in 2007. Since the acquisition LanesHealth has worked hard to extend the product range, with the addition of Jakemans Blueberry Menthol in 2009.
As a result of the latest sales success, LanesHealth is investing two million pounds in production facilities for the Jakemans factory this autumn. The factory in Boston, Lincolnshire, will be refitted with technologically advanced equipment which will improve the quality and consistency of the products, providing the sweets with a smoother texture and an even better flavour.

In addition to the factory investment, a public relations campaign and POS activity focused on consumer sampling is being implemented to support the brand.
Jakemans hard boiled confectionery contains menthol to soothe throats and provide stimulating vapours to help keep the nose clear. The range does not contain any artificial colours or flavours, which appeals to health conscious consumers who prefer to soothe coughs and sore throats the natural way.
Jakemans in now available in five varieties – Throat & Chest, Menthol & Eucalyptus, Cherry Menthol, Honey & Lemon and Blueberry Menthol – and is available in 100g bags for the RRP of just 72p.
