In addition to 300+ exhibitors who will be showcasing a wide range of solutions and services, Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payment Solutions 2012 will see the launch of the ‘Innovation Showcase’, which will provide the most innovative organisations in the retail industry with the opportunity to showcase their products – free of charge!
Exhibits in the Innovation Showcase will be selected by the events’ Steering Committee, ensuring that only the very best cutting edge innovations are put in the spotlight. Visitors will be able to see the products in action, and put them through their paces.
Nick Field, Event Director, Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payments Solutions, said, “The feedback from visitors to our launch event in March was great, but a number of the retailers who attended said ‘we want to see more innovation.’ We aim to please, and that’s why we’ve launched the Innovation Showcase at Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payments Solutions 2012. The Innovation Showcase will provide businesses with a unique platform to show off the most out-standing solutions, and we can’t wait to see all the innovation that’s out there.”
As well as launching the Innovation Showcase, Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payments Solutions 2012 well also be home to another ‘first’ in the retail event arena, with the announcement that Pecha Kucha is coming to the show!
The Pecha Kucha seminar will challenge speakers to present 20 slides, with each slide presented in 20 seconds, so each presenter has just six minutes and 40 seconds to explain their ideas. Pecha Kucha draws its name from the Japanese term for the sounds of ‘chit chat’.
Field continued, “Our visitors told us that they love the Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payments Solutions seminars. But they like them to be independent and not vendor sales pitches! But they do really do want to hear from smart innovative solution providers too but in a different format. Thus Pecha Kucha! It is a Vendor Theatre with a difference and free of charge to participants.”

Partnership will deliver even more top retailers to 2012 event
Global Retail Forum (GRF), the world’s leading professional network exclusively for retailers has announced it will be holding a two day series of meetings at Retail Business Technology Expo, Europe’s fastest growing retail expo. This will provide its members, their colleagues and non – members the opportunity to meet and network in a specially created International Pavilion at Retail Business Technology Expo.
GRF is an international professional networking group of senior retailers from various high profile brands in fashion, food and beverage, luxury and other sectors from the UK and across the world. Its purpose is to bring international retail leaders together to accelerate networking and business building. This is conducted through knowledge sharing events and an online community to enable discussions about the industry or country specific hot topics.
GRF hosts regular meetings throughout the year and is partnering with Retail Business Technology Expo to run a whole series of meetings with key industry speakers over two days during the Expo.
Mark Eve, Chairman of GRF said, “Partnering with Retail Business Technology Expo means that we’re able to offer our industry colleagues an even greater opportunity to come together, network and talk about the issues and challenges that retailers face in such a tough and competitive market. There are currently over 700 GRF members from the UK and across the globe, representing the most respected and well known retailers and are senior decision makers with responsibilities across the business from international franchise and operations through to global marketing and supply chain, as well as CEO’s, senior directors and founders.”
Nick Field, event director, Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payments Solutions, said, “Partnering with GRF will take Retail Business Technology Expo to another level. Our launch event was a huge success, but our 2012 event will be outstanding. Our Hosted Buyer programme will see over 80 senior decision makers from the top 150 European retailers visiting the show, and with our GRF partnership it is expected that a total of over 500 European retailers will visit the expo.”
The meetings will each feature a senior industry speaker who will focus on the following key areas: legal, merchandising, IT, business management, finance, marketing, supply chain and eCommerce, supporting Retail Business Technology Expo’s campaign to make the event a must visit for the entire retail team.
