ISD Solutions, a leader in cold store construction solutions for grocery, food production and warehouse markets, is expanding its offering of modular walk-in cold and freezer rooms for independent food stores and grocers, where energy efficient and flexible storage management solutions for food storage and preparation are crucial.
Available ‘off-the-peg’ from ISD Direct, the MISA range now covers 14 popular sizes with storage volumes from 3.1m³ to 16.7m³ and operating temperature from -20 to +5 degrees. These provide a fast to install and easy to clean solution ideally suited to independent and convenience stores, wholesale butchers, and other food related businesses where controlled temperature environments are essential.
The use of 100mm thick high-density isothermal polyurethane panels provides superior insulation properties, typically making a MISA cold store significantly more efficient than other commercially available cold rooms or freezers. This in turn ensures lower running costs an increasingly important factor for small businesses facing rising energy bills.
Designed as a complete solution, all ‘off-the-peg’ cold rooms are supplied with floor, ceiling and wall panels, an integrated refrigeration unit, digital controls and lighting. A mix and match approach provides customers with complete flexibility over the choice of room size, compressor specification, shelving and installation preferences. Further customisation is possible with options for strip curtains, windows, sliding doors, floor options for walk-in or trolley access, even remote condensing units.
In addition, an innovative ‘FASTFIT’ system using a patented cam lock fastener ensures quick and simple assembly to minimise installation costs and the finished surface with rounded and internal coved corners enables easy cleaning for good food hygiene. Importantly the lockable MISA cold rooms are Food Standard’s Agency HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) compliant and include a range of additional features such as illuminated internal safety release, and integrated mono-block plant.
Andrew Hudspith, director ISD Solutions explains: “Our extended MISA ‘off-the-peg’ range of modular cold stores provide efficient safe storage of perishable goods, as well as reduced energy consumption – now a major cost factor for small businesses. Our customers range from independent grocers including Spar and Budgens, to wholesale butchers and specialist food producers.”
In addition to off the shelf products ISD Direct also provides a bespoke design, manufacture and installation service, drawing on the company’s expertise in large scale cold storage projects, to meet the requirements of customers where unusual or complicated space is involved or a more complex solution with pantry, chilled food preparation and cold storage is required.
