GroceryAid, the charity for the food and drink industry has declared its first Awareness Day a success after more than 60 companies got behind the initiative. Of these companies taking part, nineteen were engaging in GroceryAid related awareness activities for the first time.

The day took place on the 26th February and aimed to make more colleagues aware of the free support available from GroceryAid. Companies and supporters hosted awareness events, held in-house meetings, distributed materials and shared on social media via #GroceryAidDay. Companies showing their support varied from major retailers to independents, manufacturers, wholesalers and smaller start-up brands.

Helen Kershaw, Marketing Communications Manager said; “We’ve been really pleased to see the industry step up and raise awareness of GroceryAid to their teams over the last few weeks. GroceryAid offers a helping hand to everyone working in the industry, be it emotional, financial or practical support and the awareness activities undertaken will help ensure more colleagues know about the charity and know where to turn for assistance. Our thanks to all of the companies and individuals who made the initiative such a success.”

The GroceryAid Awareness Day will return next year, taking place on 3rd March 2020.
