salt-sellerA whole, gourmet pink salt from the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains is now being introduced into two major wholesalers as it prepares to take the retail food industry by storm.

Known for its exquisite taste and healthy properties, this ancient high grade Pink Himalayan Salt, which was deposited several hundred million years ago, is predicted to fly off the shelves as a gourmet rock salt with a customer friendly price point.

The pink salt will retail for as little as £2.09 for 300g and with the credit crunch forcing customers to continue cutting back on their spending, Lenni Smith’s food salt enables them to add a touch of sparkle to their culinary masterpieces without breaking the bank.

Having successfully introduced the pink salt to the equine market, where it is sold as a healthy salt lick, the Salt Seller founder, Lenni Smith, has now set her sights on the human food market and believes there is demand for a good quality, natural, whole salt at an accessible price.

Whole Pink Himalayan Salt has a rich mineral content that includes over eighty-four minerals and trace elements, including calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron. The benefits and nutritional properties are impressive – aiding in eliminating toxins, balancing the body’s pH, normalising blood pressure and increasing circulation and conductivity, all of which support healthy body functions.

“Consumers are often told to use less salt in their diets, but by using whole salt on their food instead of refined salt, they can benefit from its rich natural mineral content. These minerals help to achieve the body’s ideal inner balance, which should be similar to that of seawater, which is where the salt originated!

“Pink Himalayan Salt comes out of the earth in a state which is already of human food grade. It therefore needs no cleaning or refining and so keeps its fantastic range of natural minerals in tact, these being highly compatible with the mineral balance in our bodies,” explains Lenni, speaking from the Pink Salt showroom near Hereford.

Also noted for its strong, taste one needs less to stay within the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) of about 6 grammes or a teaspoonful, making it last even longer than alternative salt products,” advises Lenni. This “super condiment” expands the pallet and enhances the flavours of all types of food when used in preparation, cooking or seasoning.

In keeping with its totally natural roots, the packaging is biodegradable or recyclable. Whole Pink Himalayan Salt will be stocked by Tree of Life and Marigold from early June and is available to order directly from www.thesaltseller.co.uk.
