Since then Geeta’s has brought other traditional Indian chutneys such as Lime & Chilli to the UK market, and kept up with trends for increased heat and new ingredients with products such as Mango & Chilli Chutney and Mango & Pomegranate Chutney, enabling the speciality and independent trade to add to differentiate their fixtures from those in the multiples.

Originally Geeta’s chutneys were used primarily as an accompaniment to Indian meals, many of which are cooked with products from the developing Geeta’s ranges, including their Spice & Stir Sauces, authentic Indian Pastes and most recently Spice Mixes, each in turn meeting the desire for more consumer involvement in the cooking process, as the understanding and integration of Indian cuisine in the UK repertoire continued to grow.

These trends have helped build both the penetration and rate of sale of the core lines, as has the new packaging design with attractive standout turquoise colour across the full Geeta’s range.
