Geeta’s has unveiled the latest product range in the brand’s Indian food portfolio, Spice Route, a new ambient spice mix range showcasing genuine regional recipes.

Seven variants are included in the Spice Route range including Tikka, Rogan Josh, Tandoori, Chettinad, Dhansak, Kebab and a Keralan spice mix and the eye-catching 30g packets retail at £1.49. Each pack has a recipe included on the packaging along with serving suggestions and serves up to four.

The Spice Route recipes have each been developed by Geeta Samtani, founder and namesake of the brand, using recipes handed down through generations of her family as well as extensive travels across India with the aim to enable consumers to re-create the ‘Real Flavours of India; by using traditional Indian cooking methods.

Marketing Director, Anita Samtani, comments: “The demand for authentic ethnic products is at an all time high, and with Geeta’s going into it’s twentieth year, we felt the market was ready for a brand new innovation that taps into the trend for convenience but which remains loyal to our core values of authenticity, premium and natural ingredients.

“The Spice Route range is versatile and can be used either as a marinade, or as the basis for a meat, fish or vegetable dish bursting with genuine Indian flavours.”

The Spice Route line is a celebration of regional Indian flavours – the Tandoori mix combines roasted cumin, ginger and cardamom and is indigenous to the Punjab region, whereas the Dhansak mix champions the Gujarat area and gives an aromatic flavour consisting of turmeric, star anise and cinnamon. Each of the variants within the Spice Route line has a different region’s spice story to tell.

The Geeta’s Spice Route range is available from Asda (Dhansak, Keralan, Tikka, Tandoori and Rogan Josh), www.geetasfoods.com and from various independent retailers priced at £1.49.
