Your investment journey in Canada starts with Immediate Core

We all love a crumpet and just by buying this humble teatime treat you can help raise enough money to help fund a hospice for a week!

Over the next few weeks a staggering eight million Warburtons crumpets will be sold in Morrisons stores across the country – that’s 190,000 a day! And each one will support hospice care.

This October Warburtons are giving their support to Morrisons’ national charity partner Sue Ryder. Each time a customer buys a nine pack of Crumpets, Warburtons will donate money to the national healthcare charity. So by enjoying a hot toasted crumpet you’ll be helping to provide hospice care and support to thousands of families.

Rick Lay, Head of Partnerships at Sue Ryder said: “We urgently need to raise more funds so we can continue to provide our incredible care. Having support from Morrisons and Warburtons in this fun and engaging way is great and will go a long way in helping us fulfil the increasing demands on our services.

At Sue Ryder we are encouraging everyone to buy some crumpets and host a tea party so they can help us give more people and their loved ones the care and support they need and deserve.”

Warburtons said: “Morrisons has a long history of supporting charities through ‘Raise a Smile’, and we are hugely proud to be involved this year by donating £45k from the sale of nine-pack of crumpets. Not only does it allow us to support one of our retail partners, but it also enables us to do some real good too – supporting Sue Ryder and the much-needed care they provide to those in need.”

The Crumpets and other items including a Sue Ryder bouquet went on sale in Morrison stores across the UK on 3 October to coincide with Hospice Care Week, an annual week of activity to raise the profile of hospice care across the UK.

David Scott, Head of Corporate Services at Morrisons said: “Hospice Care Week is a great opportunity for us to celebrate the work of our charity partner, Sue Ryder, and all their nurses and hospice staff who provide incredible care to patients and their families.”

Morrisons Raise a Smile partnership with Sue Ryder has now reached £6 million, funding community healthcare services, family support teams and Sue Ryder’s Online Community and Support: www.sueryder.org/support

Crumpets have been around since 1382 and they are still a firm favourite in Britain today. Eaten freshly toasted with a spread of butter or perhaps jam or chocolate spread, these tasty treats come in at 89 calories per crumpet, so anyone watching their weight can still take part too.
