newlargefactory-300dpiSuffolk-based Denny Bros Group is staging its next Open Day 2010 event on 15 September with a view to securing the autumn date as an annual sector event for those with an interest in boosting brand visibility and sales with contemporary packaging ideas covering food, pharma, household, DIY and public sectors.

Enhancing the Packaging Experience will look at the production and supply of all forms of niche packaging including on-pack concepts such as the multi-functional booklet label Fix-a-Form. The event will cover the creative strategies available that can help to maximise sales; and the various printed labelling technologies that can help to achieve long term brand loyalty.  Keynote speakers including Andrew Streeter of Pack-Track and Doug Johnston of Packology who will discuss how companies are gaining competitive advantage by addressing the green packaging agenda; and how to get the best packaging supply routes to market.

Denny Bros experts will be on hand to illustrate how to implement effective promotions on-shelf, how to include vast amounts of technical and legal information within the product offering, and how to roll out all important effective Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) campaigns featuring promotions powered by unique numbering and SMS links to websites.

Confident of the need for a conference that focuses on branding, Denny Bros’ Marketing Director Stephen Jarrold said: ‘The event is focusing on brand embellishment at a time when many brands are suffering from a loss of consumer awareness. In these tough economic conditions, consumers are almost totally price-driven which means brand managers have to work extra hard to underline brand benefits. When conditions improve, it is those with the strongest brand qualities who will ultimately benefit.’

‘On-pack info and promotions add much value to brands – and this will result in a long term, sustainable sales uplift.’

The Denny Bros Open Day 2010 event will be the first of a new larger scale event that we hope will become part of the packaging sector’s official conference calendar.

The conference and networking event will be followed by a tour of the production facilities at the company’s manufacturing headquarters which will cover the complete booklet labelling process.

There will be demonstrations of the just-delivered PDF checking system which compares customer proofs electronically with pre-production proofs which Denny Bros’ Pre-Press Manager Nick Theobald explains is vital to eliminate errors. ‘The new system ensures that every order we process is 100% print-ready. It reduces the chance of reproofing and so gives the customer guaranteed time savings.’

A new inspection verification system is also helping to make further efficiencies with the processing of variable data. It provides customers with a definitive soft record of the variable data ‘live’ codes printed on the Fix-a-Form leaflet, or base-label, to ensure that the promotion meets with promotion industry standards.
