raspberry-tartletLeading French bakery manufacturer, Délifrance UK has launched a “presidential” collection of four light patisserie this summer.

Inspired by traditional French recipes the new Raspberry, Lemon Zest, Blueberry and Lemon Meringue Tartlets have been created by Tony Lallement, the former chef to French President François Mitterrand and now Patisserie Development Manager for Délifrance.

Adding a tangy twist to a classic patisserie delicacy, the Délifrance tartlets are filled with a choice of raspberries, real lemon blended with cream and lemon zest, blueberries or a lemon cream topped with meringue. Encased in a fully baked almond shortcrust pastry coated in a whole egg ‘frangipane’ cream, the tartlets offer a light dessert alternative through the summer season and make a stunning addition to any dessert menu, trolley or coffee shop cabinet.

Quick-frozen to thaw and serve within three hours, the individual desserts come in compact packs of 24, making it easier than ever to stock up the freezer to meet the seasonal demand for lighter foods.

Délifrance Category Manager Lucy Pickersgill said: “Desserts are one of our key specialities and with a patisserie research and development team headed by Tony Lallement alongside almost 30 years of UK wholesale and foodservice expertise, you can guarantee our product launches encapsulate exactly what the consumer wants to eat and what the caterer wants to serve to maximise profits and interest.

“The Tartlet range is part of our extensive summer collection which is available nationally and also includes savoury and viennoiserie offerings plus a selection of added value sandwich pavé’s including the multicereal, poppy seed and muesli.”
