Leading world foods supplier Grace Foods UK has appointed Philip Cross as Managing Director.
Philip brings a wealth of experience of internationally-based food businesses in the UK and Europe, with a proven track record in successfully developing sustainably profitable, high growth organisations.
Based at Grace Foods UK’s sales and distribution headquarters in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, Philip will lead the company’s UK and fast-growing international business, across both retail and foodservice.
“I’m delighted to be joining Grace Foods UK at a time when consumer interest in world cuisine is growing rapidly. The company has a really strong food and drink brand portfolio and is very well placed to grow its presence in the dynamic world foods market,” he said.
Philip also has a history of working with businesses and product categories from outside Europe (American, Japanese, Bruneian) and regional European cuisines.
He started in the food industry with the Tesco marketing department and subsequently moved to Burton’s Biscuits Co., working on NPD & core brands such as Wagon Wheels and Jammie Dodgers.
He also spent time in marketing and commercial roles with The Dutch Meat Board and Cargill before becoming Managing Director of the American Entenmann’s Cakes business in the UK & Europe and Sara Lee frozen desserts in Europe (then part of Hibernia Foods PLC), prior to becoming Mizkan’s first MD for Europe.
