guinness-puds.jpgThe Irish have enjoyed beer from the brewers of Guinness since 1759 but it has taken 249 years for Cole’s to come up with a GUINNESS® Christmas Pudding – some things are worth waiting for! Cole’s Traditional Foods Ltd chose Food & Drink Expo 2008 to announce the launch of a range of Guinness Christmas Puddings. A luxury Christmas pudding infused with Guinness Beer, the new range was the winner in the Bakery Section of Ideas to Dine For at Food and Drink Expo 2008.

The rich dark pudding has a distinctive depth of flavour and superb moist texture. The pudding is made with pure Guinness and vine fruits giving it a fantastic flavour and colour. Just like pouring a pint of Guinness, making a pudding this good takes time – the Guinness and dried fruits are left to marinate for 24 hours before being mixed with breadcrumbs, ground almonds and citrus peel. The puddings are matured to allow the flavour to develop and mellow.

The history of Guinness is an integral part of the history of Dublin. In 1759 Arthur Guinness set up his brewery in St James’s Street. The rest, as they say, is history. Today Guinness is enjoyed around the world in over 150 countries.

Cole’s too have a fascinating heritages set up in the 1930’s by Albert Cole as a bakery and growing into a company run by Albert’s son, Chris, Cole’s now sell Christmas puddings all around the world. These two global brands have come together to make the fantastic Guinness Christmas Pudding, a new way to enjoy the unique flavour of Guinness.

The Guinness Christmas Puddings are available in three sizes, 900g (serving 8) with a RRP of £10.50, 450g (serving 4) with a RRP of £7.48 and pack of 4 x 110g individual puddings with a RRP of £6.79.

The Guinness Christmas Puddings join a popular range of quality puddings that can be enjoyed all year round. Click onto www.christmaspudding.com to view Cole’s range of steamed puddings, fruit cakes, mince pies and range of 9 Christmas Puddings.
