St Helen’s Farm, the UK’s leading goats’ milk producer, has added a Chocolate ice cream to its range of goats’ milk products.

The 500ml tub (RRP £3.99) is available from Waitrose and Ocado from mid- July and is made using fresh British goats’ milk and cream. The Chocolate base is also studded with luxurious chips of dark (cows’ milk free) Belgian Chocolate.

The existing Madagascan vanilla ice cream, developed by the dairy, has proved so popular in Waitrose since its launch in 2012 that the retailer has recently doubled the number of stores that stock the line.

The vanilla goats’ milk ice cream has also received recent acclaim in the Great Taste Awards for both its texture and flavour.

St Helen’s Farm Marketing Manager, Vicky Unwin, said: “Ice cream is one of the products that our consumers always ask about. The vanilla flavour has proved so popular that adding another delicious flavour to the range means consumers can avoid cows’ milk without compromising on choice.

“Although they are following a goats’ milk diet for health reasons, they are still seeking an indulgent treat, which is unavailable to them on most occasions. Now the whole family can enjoy a premium ice cream!”

Over the last five years the St Helen’s Farm product range has doubled indicating the demand for goats’ milk products and regular innovation from the dairy to extend consumer choice. With the new addition of the Chocolate ice cream there are now sixteen lines stocked across all major multiples.

St Helen’s Farm is also underway with a multi-media campaign to tackle consumer perceptions of goats’ milk.

The campaign, a first for the dairy, is running across mainstream media and digital platforms throughout June, July and August. The campaign addresses both the negative taste perceptions and the associated health benefits of a goats’ milk diet.

St Helen’s Farm is the leading goats’ milk producer in the UK and its products are available in Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Waitrose and Ocado. St Helen’s Farm goats’ milk is 100% British and is available in Tesco and Sainsbury.

St Helen’s Farm has been making goats’ milk products since 1986 and is based at Seaton Ross in East Yorkshire.
