Leading corrugated packaging and display manufacturer Charapak has delivered a bespoke solution for the design and production of shelf ready packs for natural snack manufacturer BEAR nibbles.
BEAR nibbles are a tasty and healthy replacement for chocolate, biscuits and sweets. They are made from 100% fruit and whole grains with absolutely no added nonsense. All BEAR snacks are less than 100 calories and provide 1 of your recommended 5 a day fruit and vegetables (or 1/3 of your whole grains in BEAR granolas).
The immediate success of the products has seen listings in several leading supermarkets, while the Bear Mango Pineapple and Yo Yo Strawberry snacks recently took Gold and Silver respectively in the sweet snacks category of the Grocer 2010 Food Awards.
With the emphasis equally on taste and natural ingredients, it was essential that the outer packaging for the products helped to reflect this image. A high quality shelf appearance therefore had to be balanced with sustainability considerations.
Charapak’s solution was to use their award winning high quality Flexo post print capability onto a recycled corrugated E flute. The result achieves a superior finish while delivering a more favourable environmental profile. A good coverage of ink and excellent colour reproduction creates
an attractive look to maximise on-shelf impact as well as consistency with primary packaging.
The shelf ready packs are also multi-point glued, which delivers efficient packing, strength and an ability to withstand the rigours of the distribution chain, while maintaining their superior appearance throughout. A perforated section is easy to remove to create the on-shelf display trays.
