cappuccino-madeleines-paperIn an exciting new development for the brand in the UK, Bonne Maman Pâtisserie has announced its entry into the food service industry.

Already well established as a major consumer brand within the premium biscuits and cakes sector, the company has identified the food service industry as a key new route to market for its traditional Patisserie products.

Bonne Maman, the No1 brand in the UK premium conserves sector, is already well known in the hotel and catering trade through its recognisable and popular conserve mini pots.

Now the company has created special packs of its favourite Patisserie ranges aimed at the hospitality trade, cafés, hotels and outlets catering for the travelling public and put in place a national distribution network for food service users.

Town and Country Fine Foods, one of the leading national suppliers of premium products with over 4,000 customers across the food service industry in the UK, is the first of a small number of key distributors Bonne Maman will be partnering in its new venture.  Town and Country’s extensive product offering includes a large range of specialty biscuits and cakes for the hospitality trade combined with a next day national delivery service.

Managing Director Paddy Lyell commented: ‘As lovers of fine food, at Town & Country Fine Foods we look for the finest products to complement our specialised product range. We won’t compromise on quality and Bonne Maman clearly provides the premium brand and products our customers expect us to supply.”

This new range is presented in flow wrap packs under the company’s distinctive red and white gingham livery with the brand’s unique ‘handwritten style’ graphics, projecting Bonne Maman’s reassuring message of quality and tradition. The initial range will comprise:

• Single serve Madeleines

• Twin pack Madeleines

• Three slice Financiers in two varieties:

o Chocolate Orange

o Almond

Plans are already in hand to extend the range with a twin pack Galette – a traditional French crisp butter biscuit – in spring 2010.

Simon Rees Collison, UK Country Manager for Bonne Maman Pâtisserie, said: “The products lend themselves to being packed as individual snack size treats making a perfect accompaniment to a cup of tea or coffee. We believe the hospitality market is ready for a premium range of biscuits and cakes that reflect the first-class credentials that Bonne Maman has achieved in the retail sector.”

To support its venture into food service, the company has developed an elegant wooden branded counter display unit, which is obtainable subject to a minimum purchase order and provides an attractive and complementary presentation of the products.
