Artisan producer Auntie Val & her team are pleased to invite you to stand N1161at the I.F.E. for the 3rd time where you will find Auntie Val’s famous & unique Marmalade collection along with the delicious Jams, Chutneys & Sauces for both Retailers & Caterers, all made by hand in small batches on single gas burners without any artificial preservatives, colours or flavours at Auntie Val’s kitchens at the foot of the South Downs in Sussex.
This year Auntie Val is pleased to announce her New Brand especially for the Supermarket & Convenience Stores.
Auntie Val kept being asked to supply Supermarkets but we needed to have something which fitted this market which we feel is very different from the Deli / Farm Shop sector, from the beginning buyers & shoppers told us what they wanted. Buyers, good price & decent profit margin, not take up too much shelf space, eye catching appearance, must sell well. Shoppers, hand made, no Es, great flavours, not too expensive. We hope we have ticked all the boxes, certainly most of the retailers who are stocking Downsman think so, here are some of the comments Auntie Val has received.
‘We ordered one pack of each to see if it would sell, it has been on the shelf less than 3 days & we have sold 36 already please can you send another order ASAP’. R.A.Tier & Son, Emsworth.

All aspects of the Downsman brand have been chosen to appeal to the discerning shopper, including the price, shape & size of jar, the label & the product range which at present consists of a selection of popular Marmalades & Jams.
Marmalades include Seville Orange; Shredless, we call it ‘No Bits’; Breakfast, (Sweet Orange); St Clements, (Orange & lemon); Root Ginger & Seville, for the Ginger fans & the refreshing Lemon & Elderflower: Jams are the favourites, Strawberry; Raspberry; Apricot; Rhubarb & Ginger; Ginger Jam; we just had to include the old Sussex recipe High Dumpsie Dearie, (Plum, Pear & Apple).
We have been asked for other flavours including a selection of Chutneys & Pickle which will follow in the months ahead.
