Leading premium Indian food manufacturer Geeta’s are pleased to report another year of strong growth for the brand in a declining market. “Our authentic chutneys, including the iconic Premium Mango Chutney, have grown by 6.45% vs a market decline of 2.8%” says Sally Campbell, the brand’s Category Manager, “over half a million households now buy into the brand, an increase of over 100,000 vs last year*.
This growth is a result of marketing activity, both above and below the line, aimed at improving brand awareness and encouraging people to try our products and appreciate the difference for themselves; our authenticity and premium positioning is clearly communicated on-pack, but it’s tasting the products that leads to repeat purchase. In a recent independent taste test we found that 7 out of 10 consumers prefer Geeta’s Premium Mango Chutney to the brand leader.**”
The company plans to build on this year’s growth with an exciting development plan for the independent and speciality sectors, encompassing the flagship chutneys and pickles as well as authentic, restaurant quality Geeta’s spice mixes, pastes and innovative new sauce kits. These products will encourage the consumer to experiment with their Indian cooking, by introducing new cooking methods such as baking and stirfry, via in-pack recipe booklets. Sampling stock will be available for all new accounts and those adding to their Geeta’s repertoire.
