The mantelpiece at Lactalis McLelland’s HQ is showcasing a new set of awards, as it celebrates scooping three trophies, 19 medals (eight of which were gold), as well as the accolade for the Best Retailer Speciality Cheese for its Somerset Goats Cheese.

The prestigious annual show proved to be as competitive as previous years, with more than 3,200 different cheeses being tasted by 100 cheese specialists. A mixture of both Cheddar and continental varieties from over 24 countries were entered and Lactalis McLelland saw off stiff competition to claim the number one accolade across a variety of different categories such as ‘The Best UK Creamery Butter’ and ‘The Best Soft French Cheese’.

“Winning an award at Nantwich is a real recognition of our cheese expertise, and we are very proud to have received so many accolades at this year’s show”, says Martin Rickenback, Group Marketing Director. “We work hard at Lactalis McLelland to ensure that we produce high quality, great tasting premium cheese and butters and endeavor year on year to prove ourselves as leaders in this highly competitive market.”
