The relationship began with a pie box, laminated on the inside to respond to Higgidy double sided printing requirements. As leaders in the direct food contact packaging, Alexir prides itself on the packaging advice it gives to its clients as well as helping those achieving brand presence on shelf.
Alexir is always at the forefront of sustainability and recyclability in packaging so when the low migration inks arrived, Alexir advised Higgidy to modify their initial packaging in order to eliminate the laminating part of their packaging process and therefore reducing costs, lead time whilst also making it 100% recyclable. The boxes are simple to open and the pies sit in a plastic tray, also sourced by Alexir, which is easy to slide out, staying rigid as they are removed. The polyester window film allows clear visibility of the products enhancing their premium positioning and pricing.
